Ebenezer Beach

15. Ebenezer Beach, son of John Beach and Hannah Staples, b. Sept. 14, 1692. Married Mehitable Gibson.

Origins

Many claim he (John Beach, Jr.) died in 1712, but the BEACH FAMILY MAGAZINE, Vol. II, No. 2, p. 156, says that his will, dated 1705, was probated in 1711, such that he died well before 1712. The will names his second wife Phebe, brother Nathaniel, and children Ebenezer, Mary, Mehitable and Hester. The fact no mention is made of a daughter Ruth suggests he had no such child, contrary to claims found in older genealogies.

According to Ebenezer Beach's will he owned about Four hundred acres of land he gave to his son John Beach Jr. and then he gave about 1/3rd of his real estate to his wife Mehitiable Beach. He then gave out other sections of his real estate in 1/5 portions and certain sections of land to his other children.
