Ebenezer Dexter was born August 8, 1728, the son of Benjamin and Hannah (Barrow) Dexter of Rochester, Massachusetts[1] [2] [3]</line><line /><line>On 27 Mar 1755, he married Lydia Ryder[4] [5], and had children [2] [6], including:</line><line /><line>Hannah Dexter, born September 15, 1756 in Rochester, Mass., who married James Nickerson, son of Eldad and Mary Nickerson; and who died February 24, 1783 in Nova Scotia</line><line /><line>Benjamin, born 24 March 1758 in Rochester Mass., who married Mary Harrington and had a son Enos, who lived in Hants County Nova Scotia; and who died in 1787</line><line /><line>Rebecca, born May 10, 1760 in Rochester Mass., who married Stephen Gardner on December 26, 1776</line><line /><line>Lydia, born July 17, 1762 in Liverpool, NS;

Simeon Perkins wrote</line><line /><line>On Monday, April 6th, 1767 The dwelling house of Ebenezer Dexter, at Great Hill, was burnt. He and his wife were from home. Their eight year old son carried out the cradle with an infant child, also some bread and bedding
Thursday, June 11th, Several people assisted Ebenezer Dexter to move a huuse at Herring Cove, at the upper mill, to where his house was burnt. The house belonged to the owners of the mill, and was valued at £10.
