About Ebenezer Martin, Sr.

Unlikely alternate birth date of Jul1694, Middletown, CT, denoted in some sources, leading to parents alternately attributed to John and Elizabeth (Howe) Martin, and grandparents Anthony and Mary (Hall) Martin, all of Middletown. Based on majority of new residents of Windham County in that period, it is more likely that this Ebenezer was from the Ipswich family.

He moved to Windham, CT Colony where he joined the church in 1724. He was later pastor of the "Canada" Church in 1762, after which he was called to Ashford, CT Colony and preached there in 1767. He was settled there as the regular minister 15Feb1768 and was ordained 15Jun1768.
