    Ebenezer Soule was born on 14 May 1750 at Nine Partners, Dutchess Co., NY.1 According to other sources, Ebenezer Soule was born on 15 July 1750 at Nine Partners, Dutchess Co., NY.1 He was He was born of Quaker stock and brought up his family in the "straitest sect" of that faith in which he himself walked and exemplified its virtues among his fellow men.1 He married Mercy Foote, daughter of Joseph Foote and Zeruiah (?), in 1769; Hillsdale, Columbia Co., NY.1 Ebenezer Soule was Appointed Judge of the Court of Common Pleas for the County of Columbia as early as 1808 after an extended term of service as Justice of Peace. He was also a Trial Justice. Was a Commissioner and filled other positions of trust.1 Ebenezer Soule seems to have settled upon leased land. From John Rensselaer, Dec. 23, 1773 he received a lease of a farm at Claverack within the Manor of Rensselaerwick, 133 acres, reserving a parcel conveyed by Philip Schuyler and Catherine, his wife, to Samuel Utley.1 He began military service Served in the New York Militia during the Revolution. His name with the number of his children appeared in the Census Returns of 1790-1810.1 In 1801, John Chase was seized of this parcel and Ebenezer Soule was seized of rent reserved to John VanRensselaer.1 In 1804 he satisfied a mortgage given by Henry T. Trave of Claverack for oe423-25 on lands in Hillsdale, NY, the farm formerly belonging to Christian Ray, now in possession of Ebenezer Soule.1 He died on 9 July 1812 at Hillsdale, Columbia Co., NY, at age 62.1 Some sources report Ebenezer Soule died on 18 January 1812 at Hillsdale, Columbia Co., NY, at age 61.1 He was buried in 1812 at a field cemetery with several other members of his family., Spencertown, Columbia Co., NY.1
