About Eddie Edward Davis
From the Clay Newspaper March, 1932:
ED DAVIS FOUND DEAD IN CAR On last Saturday, Ed Davis, accompanied by another man, was returning from Clay to Sycamore in an automobile. In fording one of the prevalent streams in that section, the engine of the car was drowned and after repeated efforts to move the car, the other man became ill and went to a nearby house. Mr. Davis remained in the car and made further efforts to move the car forward. A little later he was found in the car in a state of collapse and unconscious. It was impossible to revive him. He was buried the first of the week on Triplett Ridge. Mr. Davis lived on a farm in the Blue Knob section of the country a few miles from Clay, until a short time ago, when he moved to near Lizemore. He is survived by his widow and several children.
Edward Davis a son of James W. Davis and Martha Triplett married Hannah Marie Markle on December 10, 1899 in Procious, Clay Co., West Virginia. She was a daughter of Abraham Markle and Margaret Ann Anthony. She was born on March 08, 1856 at Brush Run, Clarion Co., Pennsylvania and died in December 1939 at Clay Co., West Virginia.
