About Edgar Charles Downie
On October 27, 2015, peacefully and with his loving wife Lorna and his children at his side Edgar Downie said his last goodbye.
For 84 years, Edgar has been brightening his corner of the world with his easy smile, his outgoing positive spirit and his twinkling Irish eyes.
He was a devoted husband to Lorna (Neal) for 59 years and their deep, mutual love was an inspiration to all. Edgar was a steadfast yet playful dad to Charlyn, Mike, Paula, Gord and Patrick. Everyone should be so lucky as to have a father like Edgar. He taught us firsthand about the big stuff in life - honesty, loyalty, dedication and kindness.
Edgar's 20 grandchildren were a constant source of pride and joy to him and they will all carry a piece of him with them forever and wherever they go.
