Daughter of Col. Benjamin Wilson and Phoebe Davidson. She was one of 30 children Benjamin Wilson had by 2 wives. Married James Martin (1788 to 1856) in 1814. She and her husband first lived in the "Stone House" when they moved to Pennsboro 4.15.1815 where they spent the remainder of their lives, (The Stone House built circa 1810 is on the National Register of Historic Places and contains a 24-room museum, geneology library and headquarters for the Ritchie County Historical Society). One of her sons was Dr. John Wilson Martin, who later lived and died/buried in Warren, Bradley County, Ark. James' and Edith's other children were: William, Benjamin W., Lafayette, James Jr., Gilbert, Marshall M., Watts, Margaret, Mrs. Hattie (M.P.) Kimball, Mrs. Mary Dunnington.
