"Mrs. Rogers, 83, Former Teacher, Dies at Claybanks"
Montague, June 25 - Mrs. Edith Linsday Rogers, 83 years old, a resident of Claybanks for 80 years and a former teacher, died Saturday night at her home. She had been ill for the past three weeks.

She was born on March 2, 1862, in Butler, in Branch County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joel D. Lindsay. They came to Claybanks in 1865, when she was three years old, and settled on the farm where she had since resided. She taught at the Green school in Claybanks and other Oceana county schools. She married Edward T. Rogers in 1894. He died in 1931.

Mrs. Rogers was a member of the Claybanks Methodist church and its Women's Society of Christian Service. She was a charter member and former treasurer of the Veterans Schoolmates organization of the Green school of Claybanks, started in 1915.

She leaves one son, Edward L., at home; one daughter, Mrs. Ralph Dutton, of Youngstown, N.Y.; one foster son, Mont Rogers of Muskegon, and seven grandchildren.

The funeral will be held from the Methodist church in Montague at 2 p.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Winston Stone, former local pastor, now of Hastings, officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Montague.
