Ein Sohn, Georg Strakosch, der später die Leitung der Hohenauer Zuckerfabrik übernahm. 1913 wurde Dr. Siegfried Strakosch von Kaiser Franz Joseph in den erblichen Adelsstand mit dem Prädikate „von Feldringen“ erhoben. Dr. Siegfried Strakosch-Feldringen starb 1933.

After Siegfried's death, his wife (Wally Strakosch, see at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~prohel/names/misc/goldberg...) published, under the title "Dr. Siegfried Strakosch von Feldringen, 1867-1933," a complete list of his publications and of the significant published obituaries, as well as an autobiographical essay by Dr. Strakosch as he wrote it (1927) to preface his intended publication of a collection of his essays. Mrs. Strakosch's publication is a 27-page private-printing; a copy is in the BYU Library in Utah (call number QH 31 .576 576x). It is the source of the pen-and-ink drawing (1924) of Siegfried Strakosch attached to this record.
Siegfried Strakosch wrote, "I started my professional activity at some distance from the agricultural fields. Already by the age of 14, and through two decades, I was employed in the textile mill my family owned in Brno. There I enjoyed my time [and it seemed a] proud privilege to form the fourth generation in an old industrial building. Venerable traditions in economic and social relations were maintained diligently. The traditions might have been a bit old- fashioned, but they possessed a certain ethical stance and taught the value of work and an understanding of the relation between the small events of the home workshop and those of the wider world. Economization, mechanization, these were the cornerstones of successful production -- an almost accidental, yet unintended lesson engraved upon me. For example, when Father told how he, as a little boy in 1827, rode a blind horses around in circles, tethered to a pole, patiently keeping in motion the Appreturmaschine of the factory. What a tremendous step forward from there to the creation of a textile mill of the 1880s, from the ancient touring car that we children found in a corner of the old cloth factory in Brno; the market transport option before that, for contact with Brno, had been the railway, since 1839. Can a young mind can see such miracles and remain indifferent? Or resist the spell cast over the dusty ground by the archetypes of once common machines? And then, in contrast, you were allowed to help install the first mechanical looms from Chemnitz. Even social policy ideas came from such lessons, and they are not forgotten. There was forced no state health insurance or welfare tax for old-age. And disability insurance was out of the question. So the old Brno cloth manufacturers created certain social institutions on their own initiative. Under the former patriarchal conditions it was a matter of course that the entrepreneur also provided as well as he could for his old, sick or otherwise incapacitated workers. From these and other impressions was built the relationship I earned with the people, with things, with appearances. In some ways they had a different setting, as if my apprenticeship in agriculture had consumed years, or as if theoretical studies had broadened throughout my adolescence. Empirical statements, memories, and the mental associations they made, gave me direction."
