About Edmund Howard, of Charles County
He was Magistrate of the County Court for Somerset.
Wives
Edmund may have married twice. The wording of a deed of gift to his daughter in 1705, "should she die before age 16 to youngest son of my now wife Margaret Howard," makes it seem Margaret was not his first wife.[1] However, we do not have record of another.
First wife seen as Margaret Stevens.
Edmund married May 26, 1681, possibly in Somerset County, Maryland to Margaret Dent, by David Richardson, minister.[1][2]

” My research on Edmund Howard indicates his father was George Howard and his mother was Alice Keyser. He lived in Barbados until the death of his father. Apparently his grandfather, Edmund Keyser, lived there as well and perhaps other family members. He emigrated to Maryland in 1664 and must after come with relatives or came to live with them. His friend, William Stevens, may have been married to a Keyser (Elizabeth) and he left property to a Benjamin Keyser in his will of 1688.“
From his estate:
” Edmund Howard, of Charles County ( Will proved 5th Jan., 1713) ... To brother [brother in law?] Richard Eyton, merchant in London, and only sister, Mrs Hester Tyndale, wife of upholsterer in Bristol, personalty. ...” (Hester Tyndale)

Not a known child ofCornelius Howard and Elizabeth Gorsuch.
Edmund is sometimes shown as the son of John Howard. However, source such as Warfield state that John Howard had only one child, John Howard, Jr. Edmund is therefore most likely the child of someone else.
This person sometimes appears in genealogies as a child of Matthew Howard who was born about 1609 and migrated to Lower Norfolk County, Virginia. Research which appears on Matthew Howard's profile indicates that he was the father of seven children, but this person was not one of them. This person's parenthood should be treated as unknown until further evidence arises documenting parentage.
