Edna Marie Bie, 94, of Vallejo, CA., passed away Friday, at Sutter Solano Medical Center following a brief illness.

Edna was born to Anna and John Latvala on June 10, 1917 in Cokato, Minnesota.

"She met and married Ralph Bie in her early 20's. They had two children, David and Diane. Their home was always open to everyone. The Bie's lived in many places. They lived in Minneapolis, and Trinidad, West Indies while Ralph worked for the Trinidad Flour Mills. Later, they moved to California, Oregon, Minnesota, and then back to California in 2001. Edna made friends wherever she went and continued writing to everyone she befriended."

"Edna was extremely talented. In her youth, she was an acrobatic dancer. She was also an excellent seamstress. She loved buying dolls at garage sales and dressing them up to look like new. She loved to sing and continued to be interested in sports throughout her life, especially swimming."

"Edna loved the Lord and talked often about her faith. God led her to refocus her gifts to minister to the needs of people. She had an uncanny ability to sense people's needs and was dedicated to helping meet those needs. She spent many hours visiting those homebound."

"She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Ralph; parents and siblings."

"Survivors include son, David (Gwynne) Bie; daughter, Diane (Gene) Stevens; grandchildren, Colleen Bie, Chuck (Heather) Bie and Jeanne (Steve) Becraft; great grandchildren, Julia and Jacquelynne Newhouse, Mary, Anne, Sarah, Mitchell and Grace Becraft, Naomi and Stella Medcalf, and Ruth, Kara, Elsie and Esther Bie."'
