Edward T. Boyer

EDWARD T. BOYER , 63, of 1003 Selmi Lane, Rock Falls, died Saturday (5 October 1985) at home. Funeral services were held today at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Sterling with Rev. Gary Jaeckle and Rev. Eldor Mueller, co-officiating. Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery in Rock Falls. Melvin-Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling was in charge of arrangements. A memorial has been established to the Messiah Lutheran Church.

Mr. Boyer was born on Oct. 6, 1916 in Chelsea, Ia., the son of William and Florence Trimble Boyer. On Sept. 12, 1941 he married Gladys Palmer at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Sterling. He was employed as as carpenter for many local contractors for the past 38 years and had been a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church of Sterling.

Surviving are his wife, Gladys; two sons, John of Bethesda, Md., and Neil of Hamden, Conn.; two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Lois) Hinz of Decator and Linda Boyer of Sterling; three sisters, Elino Ramsdell and Marjorie Head both of Toledo, Ia., and Esther Davis of Tama, Ia.; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one grandchild.
