SIR EDWARD BUTLER, knt. who was elevated to the peerage of Ireland, 16th May, 1044), as VISCOUNT OF GALMOYE, in the county of Kilkenny. His lordship m. Anne, daughter of Edmund, second Viscount Mountgarret, by whom he had two sons, viz.
1. PIERS, of Barrowmount, colonel of dragoons in the royal army, who fell at the battle of Worcester in 1650, leaving by Margaret, daughter of the first Lord Netterville,
EDWARD, who s. his grandfather.
