About Edward Durant

There’s a theory he married this Anna Andrews but it is unsupported by Donald Jacobus’ genealogy.

Name: Edward Durant 1 2
Sex: M
Birth: 02 JUN 1661 in Middletown, Hartford County, Connecticut Colony 1 3
Death: Age 66 years 28 MAR 1718 in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts Colony 1 2

Note:

Public record at Middletown CT records "was born June 2nd, 1661 as his mother saith" Boston record states that he died "March 28, 1718, aged 66 years", which puts his birth in 1651 or 1652. In a deposition he made, September 25, 1696, before Judge Sewall, he is described as then "aged fourty years", which puts his birth in 1656. His identity, however, is certain. He was recorded as an inhabitant of Boston in 1695, and on July 9, 1694, had bought the "Inn at the Sign of the Lamb" This Inn, commonly called "The Lamb Tavern", was one of Boston's most famous public houses, and stood on the sight of what was the Adams House in 1966.

In 1686 Edward Durant had a child baptized in Boston, and in 1689 another baptized in Middletown, Connecticut ~ Geanological and Personal Memoirs relating to the families of the state of Massachusetts - prepared under the editorial supervision of William Richard Cutter, A.
