Edward Rutledge/7 Lampson (George /6, Nathaniel /5, Nathanie /4, William /3,Joseph /2, William /1), was born at Stratford, Conn., April 18, 1828, and died at Hartford, Conn., March 17, 1906. He married (1) Esther Strong, daughter of Ransom and Fanny (Barnes) Strong, June 30, 1851, at Waterbury, Conn.; she was born at New Hartford, Conn., May 22, 183 1, and died at Waterbury, Conn., July 25, 1864; he married (2) Charlotte Bowers, daughter of John and Jennette E. (Lum) Bowers, of Southbury, Conn., June 10, 1867, at Southbury, Conn; she was born at Waterbury, Conn., Oct. 31, 1839. Edward Rutledge Lampson was named after the Rev. Edward Rutledge, who was rector of Christ Giurch in Stratford, Conn., in the early part of the 19th century. He was for many years a prominent hardware merchant in Waterbury, Conn. He removed from Waterbury to Hartford, Conn., where he died. He is buried in Waterbury.

1340 Alice /8 Mary, b. Waterbury, Conn., March 2, 1861, and d. there July 3, 1863.

1341 Esther /8 Maria, b. Waterbury, Conn., July 7, 1864; m. Henry L. Rowland, son of Samuel S. and Emily C. (Thorp) Rowland of Fairfield, Conn, June 23, 1887. Residence Waterbury, Conn. Their children were : ( 1 ) Sherwood /9 Lampson, b. Waterbury, Conn., June 22, 1888. (2) Maurice /9 Trumbull, b. Nov. 14, 1889, at Waterbury, Conn. (3) Henry /9 Samuel, b. Waterbury, Conn., Aug. 23, 1893.
