Prayers for Edward M. Naureckas
63, of Chicago, formerly of Libertyville, will begin at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave., Libertyville, and continue to St. Joseph Church for funeral Mass at noon.

Born March 13, 1935, in Waukegan, he died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago. Interment will follow the services, in Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.

Mr. Naureckas had lived in Chicago for the past nine years and was previously a longtime resident of Libertyville and a summer resident of Sturgeon Bay, Wis. He was a 1953 graduate of Libertyville-Fremont High School and a 1957 graduate of Purdue University, where he received a degree in engineering and was a member of the Triangle Engineering Fraternity. Most recently he was a self-employed engineer and president of Coex Engineering, Inc. Previously he had worked for the Frank G. Hough Corporation in Libertyville, IIT Research Institute in Chicago and Abbott Laboratories. Mr. Naureckas was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Libertyville, where he served on the parish council, and active with the Cub Scouts as a Webelos leader and with the Indian Princess organization. He also volunteered for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Naureckas (Nee Kearney); children, Karen (Rick) Christiansen of Glenview, Dr. Ted (Dr. Sara) Naureckas of Oak Park and Jim (Janine Jackson) Naureckas of New York City, N.Y.; grandchildren, Lauren and Sean Christiansen, and Caitlin, Patrick and Molly Naureckas; and brother, John (Louise) Naureckas of Pensacola, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Dorothy Naureckas; daughter, Barbara on Jan. 26, 1982; and brother, Alvin.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
