Mr. Edward Giles, one of the old school of hardy, tough pioneers, died last week at Stirling at the age of 97. He came to South Australia in 1839, and subsequently spent some years in Victoria and Canada. Right to the last, notwithstanding his weight of years, the grand old nonagenarian could write his own letters.
