The Kiama Reporter Wed 21 Dec 1927 OBITUARY.

MR. EDWARD SAWTELL—Aged 85.

Another link with the past has broken through the death of an old identity of the Albion Park district in Mr. Edward Sawtell, who as a carrier of early days, for thirty years before the South Coast railway came through, gathered the dairy produce by bullock dray or van in a radius of some 20 miles and took it to the nearest sea port in Shellharbour there to catch the boat for Sydney.

He could tell interesting yarns of those trips with the butter from Tongarra, Yellow Rock and Albion Park to Shellharbour.

He was wedded four times, his last wife predeceased him a year or so ago. The interment took place on Saturday in the C. of E. cemetery; Rev. G.Binks officiating.
