He was ordained a deacon at First Baptist Church in Carlsbad, NM.

Bio: "He was born Sunday, May 13, 1917, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, to Fielding and Flossie Snow (Stevens) Shreve.

He married a young widow from Oklahoma on Nov. 29, 1951, in Carlsbad, New Mexico. They each had a daughter from their first marriages and born to them were two more daughters. At the time of his death, Ed was survived by his wife of 50+ years, 4 daughters, 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, his sister and one niece. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Virgil, and sister, Dolly. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Durant, OK. He was ordained a deacon at First Baptist Church in Carlsbad, NM.

Ed was a outgoing, friendly individual and these skills were a great asset in the support of his family as a salesman. He enjoyed working in his yard and gardens and was the envy of his neighbors in this area. He continued to work as a handyman well past retirement years simply because he loved to work. When unable to continue physical labor, he served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, organizing drivers via phone."
