About Edward Earle Van Brunt

Edward Earle Van Brunt, 80, of Oceanport, died peacefully April 22, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born October 20, 1933 in Long Branch and was a Long Branch High School graduate. He was a Sgt. in the US Marine Corp during the Korean conflict; former owner of Van Brunt Steel Corp, and employed by Hall Building Corp, Farmingdale, until his retirement in 2005.

He is survived by his wife, Linda, Oceanport; son, Troy Edward, daughter-in-law, Jeanina, grandson, Xander Troy, all of Ocean; brother, Stanley, West Long Branch; sister Frances W. Spigelmyer, Monmouth Beach; brothers-in-law, James Landau and Jack Morris, both Long Branch; nieces Cheryl Miller, Linda Cooper, and Linda Morris; nephews Glen Morris, Bob Miller, and Richard Cooper; and his cousins Ronnie Monk, Greeneville, TN, Mary Hite and Betty Phillips, both of Chuckey, TN.

He is predeceased by his mother and father, Minnie Monk and Edward Ellsworth Van Brunt and his sisters Linda Van Brunt and Ellen Chris Morris.

Edward loved spending time with his family and friends and was a fan of the New York Yankees, horse racing and Nascar. Throughout his life he was always there to lend a helping hand to others. He humor and wit brought many smiles and laughs to those around him and he will not be forgotten.

Visitation, Thursday, April 24th, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch. Funeral service will be Friday, April 25th at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Entombment to follow in Woodbine Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in memory of Mr. Van Brunt to the American Cancer Society, 801 Broad Street, Shrewsbury, NJ 07702.
