About Edward Warde

Not the son of Edward Warde & Anne Ward

Origins

Updated 23 February 2023

Edward Warde was born say 1560, presumably in Essex, England, the son of Thomas Warde of Rivenhall in Essex. A birth record for him has not been found. Thomas married three times, so it is possible Edward is not the son of his first wife, Joan, who died in 1566.

Biography

He was of Little Wratting, Suffolk when he wrote his will on January 9, 1620/1, which was proved at Ipswich, Suffolk, on March 7, 1620/1. In it he names his wife Judith (possibly Lukyn), although there has been no marriage record found to indicate if she was the mother of all his children.

Note: Edward Warde the testator, was I presume the brother of Rev. John Ward of Haverhill, named by him in his will. See the will of his daughter Susan, widow of Robert Brown. [1] [3]
