About Edwin Douglas Bonham

Corning, May 16 — Edwin Douglas Bonham died Saturday at the home of his sister-in-law, Mrs. Sarah Bonham, of North Hamilton Street, Painted Post, of the infirmities of age. Edwin D. Bonham was born February 18, 1832, in the hamlet of “Knoxville,” as the locality which now comprises the sixth and seventh wards of Corning was then known. He was the son of William and Almira Knox Bonham, Knoxville having been named after his mother’s father. Mr. Bonham was for many years engaged in the livery business in Painted Post. He had lived in retirement during the past few years. He never married.

Besides an only brother, Robert A. Bonham of Corning, the following nieces and nephews survive: Mrs. Charles Lambert, William E. Howell, E.D. Bonham, Painted Post; Mrs. Charles Snell, Oklahoma City, Okla.; Mrs. Frank Foster, Mrs. Herman Beyea, Robert E. Bonham, Corning; Charles B. Howell, Onondaga Hill, N.Y.; John Bonham, Tuscola, Ill.; Mrs. Emily Coverse, Iowa City, Iowa; Mrs. Frank Meyers, Kansas City, Kansas. The funeral was held this afternoon at the late home in Painted Post.
