My father started eksport of smoked salmon and leather to the Netherlands. I and my brother Gabriel made an significant extension of our business. We extended the business to shipbuilding/shipping plants which buildt both new ships and repaired other ships including ships which had partly been wrecked along the shore. We exported lobsters, and had a fleet of minimum eight ships. When Gabriel died about 1765 the his son Jochum became a partner and the company expanded enough once.
