Einar is listed in 1910 US Federal Census, living in Chicago Illinois, on Dickens Avenue, together with his wife Alma (born in Norway) and their three children Ralph (age 4), Wilber (age 3) and Arthur (age 1.5). It says he immigrated to USA in 1896; Alma immigrated in 1903. He had work painting houses at the time. In 1910 Einar is 37, and Alma is 25.
Sept 12, 1918, at age 45 he registered for World War 1 Draft. At that time his address was 291 Columbia Street, Brooklyn Kings NY. Here it says he works as a rigger; his employer is E. Scott and his place of employment is at 308 West Street, NY, NY. His height and build is medium and he has blue eyes and light hair. It mentions that his "fourth finger of left hand amputated at joint. Pupil of eye fallen down". This draft registration card shows that his nearest relative is his brother Thomas (Tom) Strom who lives at 62 Bergen Street, Brooklyn, Kings NY. This "Tom" perhaps is one of his twin brothers, "Thoralf", who possibly changed his name to Tom??? I know the twins Rolf (who changed his name to Ralph Strom in USA) and Thoralf both came to NY before my Grandma came; they both looked after her when she first came to USA from Norway in 1912. Source information for the draft card is from Ancestry.com World War 1 Draft Registration cards, 1917-1918 (database on-line)
After his wife died in 1916, at some point after that their children lived in Lutheran Children's Home in Norwood Ilinois. He died in 1926...
