Vargas, Elaine Shirley Age 80, of Coon Rapids, MN. Passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 16th, 2017.

Preceded in death by her husband Ernesto, parents Rudy & Lillian Hakola; brothers Jerry, Dean and Dale.

Survived by loving family members, sons Ernie (Bridget), Eric ( Michelle ) and Eren; brother Gordon (Ione); and sister Deanna (Calvin); grandchildren, Brennan, Alicia, Drake, Amberlei and Skylar.

Elaine loved her many nieces and nephews that were a special part of her life . Elaine resided at Park River Estates Care Center for the last 28 years after surviving a brain aneurism at 48 years of age. She enjoyed being Resident Council President and Board Member for the Foundation at Park River. Elaine enjoyed participating in various activities, her endless card games, watching the Minnesota Wild and socializing with her many friends at Park River.

Our family would like to thank the many staff and nurses that took such wonderful care of Elaine over the years. A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, September 7th 2017 at Coon Rapids United Methodist Church located at 10506 Hanson Blvd. NW, Coon Rapids, MN. A visitation with family will start at 10:00 am with a service at 11:00 am and a luncheon to follow at the church.
