Elayne Helen Epstein

"Elayne Cohodes Epstein passed away in her home June 30 at the age of 81, surrounded in her final days by family and friends. She was a spirited, intelligent, caring, and compassionate woman known for her beauty, wit and humor and generosity. She will be missed by a wide circle of family and friends...Her family moved to California where she graduated from McClatchy High School in Sacramento and the University of California, Berkeley. Her happiest years were spent raising her family in San Francisco, where she was an active volunteer for the San Francisco Museum of Art, Planned Parenthood and the World Affairs Council. In recognition of her strong interest in the visual arts, and her years of service as a docent, the family has established the Elayne Epstein Fund at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
