Elbert Earl Mitchell

Elbert Mitchell passed away peacefully on December 24, 2009 in Salt Lake City.

Elbert was born November 10, 1924 to Marlin and Fannie Mitchell in Granger.

Elbert married Janice May Hardman on July 9, 1942 in Evanston, Wyoming.

Elbert loved his family, yard, home, and outdoors.

He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-seven years, children, Randy (Wendy), Nancy (Bob) Matkin, Michael (Stacey), and Susan (Matt) Carlson; twenty-two grandchildren, forty-two great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and daughter, Barbara.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 and one hour prior to the services on Wednesday. Interment at Valley View Memorial Park.
