  • Reference: Ancestry Genealogy - SmartCopy: Oct 9 2021, 6:58:33 UTCJacob is the son of Jacob Sebastian and Elizabeth (Bleher) Clyne/Kline. In 1785 Jacob Clyne acquired 750 acres and built Fort Cline mentioned in the Ten Mile Country. He was a tavern keeper.

Looking at the birthdates of these children we can surmise that Jacob was born before 1744. Ruth (Clyne) Rinehart Veach was born in 1763, as per her grave in Knox County, Ohio. Lettice was close in age to Ruth.

There was a Cline cemetery in Greene County, Pa. Waychoff also pointed out the location of the Cline cemetery in the old orchard at this place which he said was destroyed when the new cemetery at the Church was established.The cabin, in which the first Court was held, was of hewed logs and built after the need of forting was past.It was the stopping place also of a bi-weekly mail route from Cumberland, Maryland, to Wheeling, West Virginia.It was here that Jacob Cline died about 1802, leaving a will recorded in Greene County Will Book 1 pp. 29. Will probated on April 28, 1802 and his wife and six children are named in the will. [1]

He names wife Eleanor and several children, including “Ruth, wife of Nathan Veach”. Ruth (clyne) Rinehart married Nathan Veach after her 1st husband was killed by Indians. Her two Rinehart children were John and Susannah.
