Eleazer Smith, 2nd s. and 3rd child of John Smith by his father's 1st wife Deborah Howland, b. of record Apr. 20, 1654 at Plymouth, Mass. He d. testate at Dartmouth, Mass. betw. Apr. 15, 1729, the date of his will, and July 4, 1733, the date his estate inventory was taken.

On Aug. 12, 1680 of record at Dartmouth, Mass., Eleazer m. Ruth Sprague, dau. of John Sprague (Francis,1 of the 1623 Little Ann) and Ruth Bassett (William,1 of the 1621 Fortune), b. Feb. 12, 1658/9 at Marshfield, Mass. She d. at Dartmouth, Mass. after July 17, 1733, the date Ruth was acknowledged as the sole executrix of the the will of her husband, the other named executor in the will, their son John, "now being in the Province of Pensilvana."

Eleazer Smith and Ruth Sprague had seven child of record at Dartmouth. In the original town book there is no notation that the birth entries were from the Dartmouth Friends records. However, the printed Dartmouth vital record version of the children's births are annotated from the the Dartmouth Friends records:

June 23, 1681, d. 10mo, 6, 1766 [Oct. 6] at Little Britain Twp., Lancaster County, Penn.; m. 1) 3mo, 5 1706 [May 5, 1706] Ann Pusey, dau. of Caleb Pusey and Ann Stone, b. 1mo, 12 1684 [Mar 12, 1684/5] at Chester County, Penn. He m. 2) 6mo, 6 1728 [Aug. 6, 1728] Dorothy Windle, who survived her husband. One child of the first marriage and five children of the 2nd marriage.

• ii. Eliphal Smith, b. May 28, 1683, d. aft. Apr 30, 1733; m. 1) at Dartmouth Oct. 16, 1705 as his 2nd wife, Edward Perry, s. Edward Perry and Mary Freeman, b. circa 1673 at Sandwich, Mass.; m. 2) Nov. 1, 1728 under auspices of the Falmouth, Mass. MM, Stephen Harper.

• iii. Thomas Smith, b. May 19, 1685, was living May 19, 1745; m. an unidentified Jane, by whom he had two children recorded at Dartmouth.

• iv. Rebecca Smith, b. June 21, 1688; is not included in her father's will of Apr. 15, 1729.

• v. James Smith, b. Feb. 8, 1689/90; is not included in his father's will of Apr. 15, 1729.

• vi. Desire Smith, b. Dec. 13, 1692; is not included in her father's will of Apr. 15, 1729.

• vii. James Smith, b. Oct. 26, 1696; is included in his father's will of Apr. 15, 1729, but no further record uncovered.
