Elena Ingleby was the daughter of Joan Stapleton who was married to Sir William Ingleby of Ripley.[1]

Ellen was the sister of:[1]

• John, who predeceased his mother, married Margery, the daughter of Sir James Strangeways, who when a widow married Richard Welles, lord Welles and Willoughby, by licence dated 10 August 1468;[2] and
• Katerinae;

Elena married Robert Eure and had daughters: [1]

1. Anna
2. Isabella
3. Elena

After Robert's death, she married John Constable. They had no children.

The will of Elena's mother, dated 12 October 1478, proved 31 December 1478, in which her mother was styled Domina Johanna Ingleby, relicta Willelmi Ingleby, militis, or Lady Joan Ingleby, widow of Sir William Ingleby, Knt, mentions:[1]

1. her daughter Elena Constable, the wife of John Constable of Halsham, knight, and Elena's daughters:
   1. Anna Constable
   2. Isabella Constable
   3. Elena Thwates
2. her daughter Katerinae, who was left properties in Hoton-Wandeslay, Kyllinghall, Spuristy, Maunbey-super-Swale, Kyrkby-super-Wiske, and Skelton juxta Ebor.

In the IPM of Robert Eure heirs are found to be his "Anne Constable, aged 17, Isabel Constable, aged 15-1/2, and Elena Thwaites, aged 13." [3]
