Notes

Lord of Brimsfield.

In 1165/66, he rendered account of 100 Pounds for the fine of his land. In 1167, he gave to the monastery of St. Peter 8 Pounds worth of land (or two-thirds of all the land) in Ullingwike, thereby confirming the earlier grant of his mother, Berta, of one-half of the land (or 6 Pounds yearly), and the monks gave back to him the land of Craneham which they had of his father's gift.

By his charter, to which his brother, Walter, was a witness, he gave to the Lepers of St. Sepulchre, near Gloucester, the right to take wood for fuel in his wood of Brimsfield, a privilege which the hospital enjoyed until the reign of Henry VIII.
