Elihu S.Kelley, formerly of North Clarendon, died of apoplexy at the home of his son, Capt.S. H. Kelley, in Salisbury, at 1 o'clock p.m., Jan. 10, in the 88th year of his age. Mr. Kelley was born in Montpelier, July 17, 1806, and lived in Danby, Vt., Smithfield, R.I., Mt.Holly, Vt., Clarendon. Vt., and Salisbury.

He lived in Clarendon 46 years, and was well known by all old residents of Clarendon, Rutland and adjoining towns. he was from one of the oldest new England families; of Quaker parentage; honored and highly esteemed as a citizen.

He was married in 1834 to Phebe Lapham of Smithfield, R.I.,who, with two sons, survives him.
