Note: Elijah from Turin, born 1774, went to Brookfield, Madison County, New York, in 1819, where he lived two years, then removed to Alfred, Allegany County, New York, where he purchased a farm on which some improvements had been made, in 1822. He raised grain that year. He then returned, and with his family, moved to Alfred in February of the following year. They came there with a sleigh and horses, there being no public conveyance at that time for traveling. The widow of Elijah's son John and her daughters reside in the old homestead still, in 1892.--("The Descendants of Richard and Hannah Huggins Woolworth" , compiled by Charlotte R. This agreement made between Elijah Woolworth X(&) Benjamin Kimball of the first part and Daniel Kelley of the second part Witnesseth. That the said parties of the first part covenant and agree to do all that relates to the covering and completing the house the frame where of is now erected for the sd party of the second part to include a parties with the addition of a frame for a wood house not to ____ 40 feet in length X(&) 12 feet in width, 12 feet to be sectioned off for a work room, This work to include all that relates to _____ work without X(&) within the sd house. The work to be done well and in general in a plane manner no work to be done in the garnet(?) excepting laying the floors, making the stain X caping the windows
