Elinor Marie Nelson, 89, of Battle Creek, loving wife, mother and grandmother went to be with her Lord October 13, 2012 at Verona Adult Foster Care.

She was born October 13, 1923, the daughter of Joseph F. and Edna C. (Gustke) Halder in Newton Township.

Elinor worked in the packing department at Kellogg's for 19 years retiring in 1985.

She married Dene G. Nelson on July 12, 1942. Dene died in 1997. Elinor was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Evelyn Halder, Betty Nosker and Caroline Worthington; brothers, Joseph Halder, David Halder and Clarence Halder. She is survived by her son, Rodney O. (Linda) Nelson of Battle Creek; grandchildren, Chad (Marisa) Nelson, Kenneth Arent, Joel Nelson and Melissa (Zach)Smith; sister, Patricia Nichols of Battle Creek and sister-in-law, Beverly Halder of Battle Creek.

Elinor was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.

Services are pending. Interment, Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
