Elisha Hall was born in 1736 and died in Lewis County VA (WV) in

Elisha married Margaret (Hedrick) Snyder in Lewis County July 30,
1826. Margaret was born in 1772.
Elisha's will is dated 1816 and is on file in Lewis County. The
will was contested by his son, Elijah in 1821. The will and the court
documents the contesting of ties all his descendants together.
Land in Allegany County, MD, west of Cumberland, was opened in
1786 by the state of MD, and one of the original settlers was an Elisha
Hall along with a Moses, Benjamin, and Richard Hall. This Elisha Hall in
Allegany County in 1797, just two years before Elisha acquired his
first land in Harrison County, VA.
Elisha began paying tithables on his land in Harrison County in
1799 and until 1810, when he and his son, Elijah, both became subject to
the tithables. Elisha actually had acquired patent to over 1700 acres by
1799 along Polk (Poke) Creek and Gee Lick.
