About Eliza Ellington Caminetti
http://cagenweb.com/lr/amador/rocco%5B12a%5D.htm
She was called "Ella." Her real name was Eliza Ellington Martin. Just twenty when she came to Jackson, she was the daughter of Maria Frances Hodges and Dr. Richard Peter Martin.
She was a native of Springfield in adjacent Tuolumne County. Only two miles away from Columbia, Springfield was the most beautiful camp in the Mother Lode. Its streets were shaded by many trees. It had a two-story hotel with shaded verandas, and the largest plaza of any mining town. Ella's father was not just a "mining camp doctor." He was one of the prominent physicians in the State.
