About Elizabeth Coombs Adams

Elizabeth was the granddaughter of John Adams, Second President, and niece of John Quincy Adams, sixth President of the United States. She was the daughter of Thomas Boylston Adams, the oldest son of President John Adams. Her father was Chief Justice of the Massachusetts Supreme Court for a number of years.
She was one of the few persons permitted to be present at the meeting between President John Quincy Adams and the Marquis de Lafayette when the latter came to the US to lay the cornerstone of the Bunker Hill Monument. On July 4th of the following year, she was present at the bedside of President John Adams.
