Research Notes
Her maiden surname is still unknown but it was not LITTLEFIELD ... that was an incorrect assumption by a modern researcher. The error occurred because her husband Richard AUSTIN had a brother-in-law surnamed LITTLEFIELD & it was erroneously assumed that he was the brother of Richard's wife, when in fact Edmund LITTLEFIELD was Richard's brother-in-law because Edmund had married Richard's sister Agnes AUSTIN.
There is a Richard Austin , born 1598 also from Bishopstoke that left Southampton 02 May 1638 on the ship " Themselves" with his wife and 2 children.[1]
Possible last name for Elizabeth could be Ayres, Airs. A marriage record for 1626 has a Richard Austin marrying a Eliz Ayres
