Lisa, Hi. Well, ya' got me beat...I'm not even related to Andrew Beall---I'm the 4th great grand niece of his two sons-in-law!!! I descend from a Brown family from Pr Geo Co, MD. Andrew and Margaret Beall had two daughters, Elizabeth Beall and Nancy Beall. Elizabeth married my uncle Peter Brown, and Nancy later married his brother, Benjamin Brown. They are mentioned in Andrew's 1781 will that you just sent along to me from Jack Day. I have Jack's database, too, but thanks for sharing it with me! Nancy and Elizabeth and their husbands, Peter and Benjamin, migrated to Nelson/Washington, KY, to those "CainTuck" lands that Andrew mentions in his will..
I don't have anything more on Andrew and Margaret Beall's ancestry than what I got from Jack Day---he's amazing, isn't he! I think you're the person who directed me to his database in the first place---thanks so much!!
If you'd like anything more on my Brown/Beall descendants, let me know. Otherwise, I'll see you on the web again, I'm sure!!
Thanks much, Laura Abatgis
ID: I3326 Name: Andrew BEALL Sex: M Birth: 1721 Death: 1781 Note: 1 2 Note: B-ALEX-22a. Andrew Beall, b.1721 [TB,5F] of Ninian [1687] of Alexander, Immig. d. 1781. m. G1752 Margaret Beall, (B-ALEX-214/1722) b. 1722, d 1797). Age 55 in Census of 1776; Margaret 54, in St. John's & Prince George's Parishes, PGC, Census of 1776. (Brumbaugh I:21) Others in household incl : 1. male 25 2. female 25 3. male 21 4. male 19 5. female 16 Heterick has Andrew Beall to be son of Ninian Jr, [1723] of Ninian Sr (B -SR-1)[1696]; however, Ninian Jr could not have been born earlier than 1722 and therefore would hardly have fathered a child b. in 1721.
Thomas Beall has Margaret to be daughter of William Beall [1670] of Thomas [1638]. This is not impossible, but would place Margaret a generation too early. Heterick has Margaret to be daughter of William Beall [G1683] of Alexander, Immig. [1649] and b. 1722 as above, but d. 1781 (PG Wills T1:141 17 Jul 1781-26 Aug 1781) Margaret inherited 110 acres of Discontent in Frederick Co. on Watts Creek. Lived Plantation. 1755-1756 Andrew Beall listed in Frederick County Debt Books for pt. Discontent, 100a.
In Census of 1776 had male children 27 25 19 [b. 1749 , 1751, 1757], female 25 16 [1751, 1760]. 10 March 1778 Sheriff of PG ordered to pay Andrew 240 pounds for recruiting service (MD Archives 16: 532) Will Jul 17 1781 - Aug 20 1781 (PGW T#1:141) refers to four children only, a daughter who married Offutt being deceased. Will provides for £50 each for Mary Bennett Hoffman's 4 youngest sons John Smith Scott, Watkins Scott, James Scott and Bennett Scott, however relationship to Andrew Beall is not clear: 1. Richard, b 1749, age 27 in Census of 1776, to receive £50 from each sister after their Kentucky lands secured. 2. daughter, b. 1751, age 25 in Census of 1776, m. Offutt, mother of Andrew Offutt, grandson, to inherit slave, his now deceased mother having been previously given a child's part.
3. Elizabeth b. 1751, age 25 in Census of 1776, m. Peter Brown 11 May 1781 (PGML). O children at time of Andrew Beall will. In will to inherit parcel of land Andrew purchased from Thomas Webb and on which Thomas Webb lives, also "one half of my Cain Tuck Lands".
4. Andrew, b. 1757, age 19 in Census of 1776, to receive dwelling plantation, gray stallion etc (+) 5. Nancy, b. 1760, age 16 in Census of 1776. Not married in 1781. To receive land purchased from John Hamilton and rest of land from Thomas Webb, and other half of Cain Tuck lands.
