Elizabeth Brown

Biography

Elizabeth Safford was born at Ipswich, Massachusetts Bay, in 1670, a daughter of Joseph Safford and his wife. She became the first wife of John Brown of Ipswich; the couple removed first to Wenham, and then to Preston, Connecticut, on the Thames River north of New London. Elizabeth died in 1739; John was remarried at some point thereafter, to Rebecca (Unknown).

John Brown, son of Nathaniel and Judith (Perkins) Brown, was born at Ipswich, Massachusetts Bay, in about 1674. He married first Elizabeth Safford, in about 1696; the couple removed from Ipswich to Wenham, and thence to Preston, on the Thames River in southern Connecticut. Elizabeth died in 1739; John remarried Rebecca (Unknown).
