Elizabeth Burgess

• Not the same as Elizabeth Green
• Not a known daughter of Solomon Turpin, Sr. & Elizabeth Turpin. He named his daughter“ Elizabeth Polloake” in his 1741 will.

Elizabeth Turpin, born 1698, appears here to have been a much younger second wife of William I. Burgess, who died in April 1712. If so, then Elizabeth would have married William as a very young teenager girl, and it is very unlikely that she then had any children by him.

However, Elizabeth may be mother of the younger claimed Sarah, born 1719, if Elizabeth remarried a second time to an unknown husband.

Other claims are that the Elizabeth Turpin who married William I. Burgess was born in 1670, and so then it is also quite likely that this Elizabeth Turpin born 1698 is an entirely different woman, and so she is not the husband of the much older William Burgess at all.
