Note: Elizabeth, the wife of Theodorick Carter, mentioned in his will, is sometimes said to have been the daughter of William Randolph, in other accounts the daughter of James Webb. She is also sometimes said to have been born a Williams. The facts simply do not support these conclusions and there are no sources or contemporaneous records that tell us who Elizabeth's parents were. The parents and birth name of Elizabeth, the wife of Theodorick Carter are not known.
