About Elizabeth Jane Earp
Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Earp died at 1:15 Saturday afternoon at the family residence a quarter mile east of the city on Broadway. She had been ill several years, but her last illness was of about six weeks duration, the cause of death being cancer of the stomach. Elizabeth J. Allen was born near Nashville, Tenn. in 1824 and when quite young moved to Hartford, KY with her parents. In 1845, she married Josiah J. Earp and the following year came to Warren county, and they have since made it and Henderson county their home. To them were born eleven children, seven of whom are living to mourn her loss with the husband. They are Mrs. Josephine Clark of Montgomery, Mr. Appeline Bell of Canton, and Alfred L., Geo., Walter C., Mrs. Sarah Amey and Mrs. Mary White of this city. She had been a member of the Methodist church since she was 11 years old, and was a member of the First M.E. church of this city at the time of her death. The funeral was conductd by Rev.
