Transcription of text in document Elz. & John Elledge To Governor, State of North Carolina } Administration Bond 100 pounds, April Term 1788

Know all men by these presents That we Elizabeth Elledge John Elledge Benjamin Elledge & Isaac Elledge are held and firmly Bound unto Richard Caswell Esq. Governor of said State in the full and just sum of One hundred pounds Specie to be paid to the said Richard Caswell Esq. Governor and his successors assigns to which payment well and Truly to be made we Bind Ourselves our heirs Executors and Administrators Jointly and severally firmly by these presents sealed with our seals And Dated This 30th Day of April Anno Domini 1788 –

The Condition of the above obligation is such that if the above Bound Elizabeth Elledge & John Elledge Administrators of Thomas Elledge Decd Deceased do make or Cause to be made a true and perfect Inventory of all and Singular the goods and Chattler Rights and Credits of the Deceased which have or shall come to the hand or knowledge or profession of the one Elizabeth Elledge & John Elledge and or into the hand or knowledge or profession of any other person or persons for them and the same so made do Exhibit or cause to be Exhibited into the Secretary’s Office and one Attested Copy Thereof to the County Court where Orders for Administration taped Within ninety Days after the Date of there presents and the same goods Chattler and Credits and all other the Good, Chattler and Credits of The Deceased at the time of their Death which of any line hereafter Shall come into the hands or profession of the said Elizabeth Elledge & John Elledge or into the Hands or professions of any other person other Sons for them do well and Truly – Administer according to Sons in Further do make or cause to be made a true and Just account of their Said Administration within one year after the Date of these presents And all the rest and Residue of the said Goods Chattler and Credits Which shall be found Remaining upon the said Adminstrators & .. account The same being first Examined and allowed by the Governor and Council General or County Court shall deliver or pay to such person or persons respectively and the same shall be due pursuant to the bond intent and meaning of the act in that case made or provided and if it should appear that any will or testament was made by the deceased and the Executor or Executors therein named do exhibit the same into court making request to have it allowed and approved of Accordingly if the said Eliz Elledge and John Elledge above bound being thereunto required do render and deliver the said letters of Administration approbation of such Testament being first had and made in said court; Then the above obligation to be void and of no effects or else to remain in full force and virtue.
