Wife of Samuel Hawkins who died 20 Oct 1856 at age 34. Elizabeth continued to raise their children alone on their farm near Stafford, Ohio, in Monroe County. The 1850 census indicates that Samuel's mother, age 70, lived with the family, but is not there in 1860. Children listed in census records: Mary, b. 1845; John, b. 1847; Jane, b. 1850; Benjamin, b. 1852; Oswell (this is probably Oswald), b. 1853 or 1854; Martha Ann, b. 1856. Having found several records for these children, I am so excited to link this whole family together for their descendants and relatives!
