- It is generally accepted that Elizabeth Lindley, b. 4 8M 1720 (Oct), dau of James Lindley & Eleanor Parke, married her step-brother, George Jones, on 3 Feb 1740, St.George's Parish, Harford co,MD. George Jones was son of Henry Jones by his 1st wife Loveday Archer. Her sister Mary Lindley married John Woody in same parish 2 years earlier so that there is some reason to believe that the Lindley girls had fallen away from Quakerism and were perhaps attending Episcopalian services. Henry Jones, George's father, had married Mrs Eleanor (Parke) Lindley, after the death of James Lindley.
- The Elizabeth Lindley that was the spouse of Brinsley Barnes was an older woman, probably born about 1715. A marriage record has not been found to my knowledge, but they are presumed to have married about 1733.
