Elizabeth Jordan

Col. George Jordan married Eliza Coats, which marriage was reviewed by the Virginia Assembly for its legality on on 4 Mar 1654. No children of this marriage.

"George's 2nd marriage was actually certified via a Quaker Court held in James City 26 March 1655.  George had to produce papers to prove that Elizabeth Coates was formerly married to Daniel Coates and that Daniel Coates was deceased on 13 April 1654 in Ireland and that it was now lawful for Elizabeth to marry.  The Court did agree that it was true and that the marriage to George was judged both by Civil and Common Law of England and certified it - Recorded 20 April 1655."
