Biography Elizabeth and Elias were living on 100 acres of Ike Henderson's land, bought when Ike sold out. When Elias died so soon, he left Elizabeth with two babies and only 30 acres cleared. Elizabeth's sister Catherine was married to Nate Henderson, and they lived next door. Elizabeth asked them to move in with her, they would build on and all live and farm together. They agreed, but unknown to any of them Elias' brother Solomon had gone into court and had himself appointed guardian to Elizabeth's two babies, giving him control of her farm. A huge row ensued, and Nathan and Catherine packed up and moved west, as his father and brothers had already done.
Elizabeth and her father James Larkins went to court, sued, and had the guardianship revoked. The next year she married John Juett, and soon they too moved west. The 1850 census shows Elizabeth again living next to Nate and Catherine in Fulton Co. IL. When the Larkins tribe joined the migration in the 1850s, Elizabeth moved again a few miles west. She is buried in the Larkins cemetery on the county line between McDonough/Warren counties, with her father and other family members.
John Juett died in 1862 in the Civil War.
