About Elizabeth Kilmer

Married Henry Kilmer in 1814 in Berks County, then moved for a period to Berkeley County, West Virginia, prior to moving to Wayne County, Indiana.

The Elizabeth and Henry Clay Kilmer family had purchased "the old Grimes place" which was delayed in it's building by workers beset by catching "the fever". The property was in the northwest corner of Boston Township, the closet to Wayne Township, where the house lies overlooking Boston Pike. The house is actually in Wayne Township near the line. There was at that time a Grimes Chapel, with a private family cemetery on the property located specifically in the NW Qtr. of Sec. 28-T13 R1W. This cemetery and others in Boston Township are described in a small volume "History of Boston Township, Wayne County, Indiana" by Lewis M. Starr, that can be found in Morrison Reeves Library in Richmond, IN.- R 977.263 S796) My thanks to Arnold Dean author of "Wayne County, IN Graveyards"
