Elizabeth Batte (daughter of Henry Batte and Mary Lound), was born say 1682 in Charles City County, Virginia, and died after 1764 in Amelia County, Virginia, probably at the home of her son William.

She Inherited half of grandfather Henry LOUND’S 1674 patent or 258 acres.

She married William Ligon, Jr. 1702/04 in Prince George Co., Virginia. He was the son of William Ligon and Mary Tanner.

The children of Elizabeth Batte and William Ligon were:

  1. Joseph Ligon, born 1704, Henrico Parish, Henrico County, Virginia, d. 1752, Dale Parish, Chesterfield County, Virginia. Married Judith Stewart. Possibly also married unknown.
  2. Sarah Ligon, born 1712, Halifax County, Virginia, died 1784-1785. Married in 1734 to her cousin Henry Ligon (d betw 1759-1762), son of Richard Ligon and Mary Worsham. (NB: some suggest this Sarah married a different Henry Ligon.)
  3. William Ligon, III, born before 1725, Amelia County. Viriginia, died 1796, Amelia County, Virginia. Married Ann Rogers. Possibly also married Ann Rogers.

It's possible there was another son, Samuel.
